China has reiterated that dialogue and diplomatic discussions are the only effective means to resolve the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States. Beijing reaffirmed this stance on Friday following the imposition of fresh economic sanctions by the US against Tehran. Speaking at a press conference in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that regarding the situation with Iran, China consistently maintains that dialogue and discussion offer the only effective path out of the crisis. He further added that China opposes illegal unilateral sanctions.
China’s position on this matter remains consistent and clear. This statement comes at a time when Washington is intensifying economic pressure on Iran. Simultaneously, the Trump administration has signaled its intention to impose sanctions on Chinese entities that maintain ties with Iran. Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had also called for a de-escalation of rising tensions in West Asia and the Gulf region, urging a swift return to dialogue and negotiations. Beijing’s stance makes it evident that China prioritizes a diplomatic solution over unilateral economic pressure or military action against Iran.
