A spreadsheet containing the names of “over a hundred” individuals accused of sexual misconduct in Silicon Valley, USA, is circulating privately. The list includes prominent and powerful figures—ranging from investors to business executives—linked to the technology and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors.
The list is being shared through an informal “whisper network” among women in Silicon Valley. The allegations range from drugging and sexual harassment to rape. However, the women involved are refraining from speaking publicly due to the risk of losing their jobs.
The risks of sexual misconduct within Silicon Valley’s close-knit social and professional networks have been discussed previously. In 2022, AI researcher Keerthana Gopalakrishnan raised questions regarding the community-led mediation methods used to address allegations of sexual coercion and harassment within the “Effective Altruism” community.
