Iran has warned that any act of aggression against it will be met with a fierce response involving entirely new military technologies and unexpected “surprises.” Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, the spokesperson for the country’s armed forces, issued this warning. Speaking to state media on Saturday, he asserted that Iran’s military is in a much stronger position than ever before, relying on asymmetric warfare tactics and fully indigenous technology. Shekarchi stated that Iran’s armed forces are currently in an excellent position. The country’s missile and drone capabilities have become significantly more advanced and destructive. Should the enemy attempt any reckless move, major military surprises await them on the battlefield. Essentially, Tehran is pursuing a strategy of defeating expensive, heavy weaponry with low-cost yet effective military hardware.
Meanwhile, the Navy of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to launch direct attacks on US warships and destroyers deployed in the Indian Ocean if a new conflict erupts. Ali Mohammadi, the deputy for political affairs of the IRGC Navy, issued a sharp rebuttal to US President Donald Trump’s claim of controlling the Strait of Hormuz. He asked why, if Trump claims control over the Strait, there are no US naval vessels present there; if the US asserts control, it ought to have at least one ship in the area. He made it clear that if a new war breaks out, Iran would certainly strike US warships in the Indian Ocean, not just those in the Strait.
