At least three people, including a 16-year-old suspected gunman, were killed and several others injured in a shooting incident at a school in the Philippines. Four of the eight injured are in critical condition. The shooting took place on Friday in the town of Banga, in the South Cotabato province of the southern Philippines. This marks the third school shooting incident in the country since June.
An official from the country’s disaster management agency stated that two of the deceased were students. Several of the injured are currently receiving hospital treatment. All the victims were students aged between 14 and 17.
South Cotabato Provincial Governor Reynaldo Tamayo stated that the suspected gunman took his own life after the attack.
However, it was not immediately clear how many attackers were involved in the incident.
