The United States is preparing to deploy the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt to the Middle East. This move is being made amidst ongoing hostilities involving Iran. The US Naval Institute reported that the carrier will remain deployed in the region for more than seven months.
US Navy Admiral Daryl Caudle and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John Perryman announced this to reporters on Wednesday. They stated that the Theodore Roosevelt, along with its accompanying warships and the embarked Carrier Air Wing 11, will replace the Japan-based USS George Washington, which is currently deployed in the Middle East. The George Washington entered the area of operations under the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet just last week.
