The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has stated that the Government of India has no involvement in the event organized in New Delhi featuring a virtual speech by ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On Tuesday, the spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that the event scheduled to take place in New Delhi is being organized by a private entity and has no connection to the Indian government.
Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to deliver a virtual address at an event organized by the South Asia Foreign Correspondents Club to mark the second anniversary of the student-led mass uprising on August 5. Bangladesh had sought an explanation from New Delhi regarding the Indian government’s stance on this matter.
