Explosion near Tehran

An explosion occurred on Tuesday (August 4) at the Shamsabad Industrial Park near the Iranian capital, Tehran, leaving at least 18 people injured. A spokesperson for Tehran’s regional emergency services confirmed the incident.
Spokesperson Shervin Tabrizi stated that four of the injured were taken to a medical center for treatment. An emergency services facility near the blast site sustained damage, though no personnel were present there at the time.
Davoud, a board member of the industrial park, said the explosion took place inside a tank at a factory within the park’s aluminum production zone. The blast caused fire to spread to various parts of the facility.
Bijan Soleimanpour, the Deputy Governor of Tehran Province and Special Governor of Rey County, dismissed speculation regarding the cause of the explosion.
Contrary to some rumors, he stated that the incident was not linked to an impact from a projectile or any external cause. According to the official, the explosion occurred in a tank containing industrial materials at a production unit.
