Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed to have launched a ballistic missile attack targeting US F-35 fighter jets stationed at the Al-Azraq airbase in Jordan, where advanced American F-35s are deployed.
According to a report by Iran’s Fars News Agency, this attack was carried out in retaliation for a recent US strike on Iran’s Qeshm Island that killed the parents and child of a single family.
The IRGC stated that the attack targeted a runway and a maintenance hangar. The missile strike reportedly completely destroyed three US F-35 fighter jets and left three others “severely damaged.” Additionally, the IRGC claimed that several US personnel, as well as members of the base’s technical and maintenance teams, were killed in the attack.
The IRGC declared, “There is no place in this region for the child-killing forces that brutally murder innocent, sleeping families in the dead of night.” The organization described the attack as part of the struggle to expel the last US occupier from Islamic lands.
