US President Donald Trump has stated that he has already issued instructions regarding the US response should he be killed by Iran. He made these remarks after Israeli intelligence revealed details of such a plot by Iran.

Trump told the New York Post that he has “given instructions” on what should be done if Iran were to assassinate him.

He made these comments referencing banners displayed during the funeral procession of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei—who was killed in a US-Israel operation—which called for Trump’s assassination.

Trump told the US tabloid, “I’ve been on their list for a long time. We have to deal with this.”

The US President added, “But the main thing is, I’ve given instructions—if anything happens to me, they will be bombed on a scale they have never seen before.”

Trump further noted that Tehran has been seeking to kill him for years. He concluded by saying, “I hope you will miss me.”

Notably, Israeli intelligence has claimed that Iran recently devised a new plot to assassinate President Trump. Two sources familiar with the matter disclosed this information to CNN.

This intelligence claim by the Jewish state’s hardline Netanyahu government has added a new dimension of tension between the two nations, coming at a time when a ceasefire agreement between them is at risk of collapse.

Two Israeli sources claimed that this information surfaced this week. Another source stated that the US had been receiving continuous intelligence regarding a potential plot to kill Trump over recent weeks; however, this specific claim from Israel is new.
