Police in Pune, Maharashtra, have revealed sensational new details regarding the murder of 26-year-old real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal. Investigators claim that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, obtained approximately 10 million rupees (equivalent to 13 million Indian Rupee) from Ketan under the pretext of wedding shopping. She subsequently handed the money over to her lover, Chetan Choudhary, and orchestrated a plan to murder Ketan. This report comes from NDTV.
Police stated that 20-year-old Siya Goyal and her lover, 22-year-old Chetan Choudhary, not only plotted the murder but also devised a plan beforehand on how to evade suspicion and eventually marry each other after the crime.

It is alleged that on June 18, Ketan Agarwal was murdered by being pushed into a ravine at Lohagad Fort in Pune. Police have arrested both Siya and Chetan in connection with the incident.
Investigations revealed that Siya Goyal took about 10 million rupees from her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, citing wedding shopping expenses. However, instead of using the funds for the wedding, she handed the entire amount to her lover, Chetan Choudhary.
Police claim that Chetan, who came from a financially struggling family, had told Siya it would take him at least three years to become financially stable. Consequently, Siya used the money to help him build his business and career.
According to investigators, they had decided beforehand that Siya would remain unmarried for three years following the murder. They believed this would reduce public suspicion regarding the killing and allow Chetan time to achieve financial stability. Their plan was to marry after this period, assuming Siya’s family would then accept the union as normal.

Police stated that on the day of the murder, Siya Goyal suddenly sat down at Lohagad Fort to give a specific signal. That action served as the cue for her lover, Chetan, to push Ketan.
Investigators noted that, according to the plan, Siya would sit down either under the pretext of drinking water or by pretending to tie her shoelaces; the act of sitting down was the pre-arranged signal. This was not merely a signal; the plan was devised with personal safety in mind. Had Ketan grabbed Sia before falling after being pushed, there was a risk that she, too, could have plunged into the ravine. Consequently, this tactic was adopted to keep her at a safe distance.
Police stated that Chetan Chowdhury traveled to Lohagad Fort—located approximately 90 kilometers from Pune—on a scooter rather than a car to avoid detection by CCTV cameras or records at toll plazas. The scooter used in the incident has already been seized.

An analysis of call detail records revealed that Sia Goyal had a secret phone conversation with her boyfriend, Chetan Chowdhury, just 34 minutes before the murder. Investigators believe this call conveyed the final instruction to execute the killing. Police claim the murder plot was finalized in late May. Sia had previously attempted to kill Ketan on June 14 by pushing him off the hill, but he survived by clinging to a bush.
Following that incident, Sia claimed she had accidentally pushed Ketan out of fear after spotting a snake. After the first attempt failed, Chetan decided to be present at the scene for the second attempt to ensure Ketan could neither escape nor survive.

Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and other aspects related to the murder are being examined.
