Following high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, U.S. President Donald Trump departed Beijing for the United States. Over the course of two days—Thursday and Friday—the two leaders participated in multiple meetings. On Friday afternoon, Air Force One, the special aircraft carrying President Trump, took off from Beijing Capital International Airport bound for the U.S. To bid Trump farewell, all those present—clad in blue attire—waved the flags of both the United States and China, expressing their enthusiasm.

What Xi and Trump Said: Xi Jinping and Donald Trump characterized the Beijing visit as historic, significant, and highly successful. Following their final meeting at Zhongnanhai, Chinese state media reported that Xi Jinping described the visit as both historic and a milestone. He stated that, together, the two leaders have charted a new course for a constructive, strategic, and stable relationship between their two nations. Xi further remarked, “President Trump seeks to ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA), while I am committed to realizing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.” He urged both countries to implement the significant consensuses reached during the meetings.

Conversely, Chinese media noted that Trump described the visit as highly successful, a subject of global discussion, and a memorable occasion. In his remarks, Trump referred to Xi Jinping as “my old friend,” adding, “I have deep respect for him.” He further stated, “I am eager to maintain sincere and close communication with President Xi Jinping and look forward to welcoming him to Washington.” This report was carried by The Guardian online. President Trump’s three-day visit to China included a state banquet, tours of historic sites, private discussions, and joint dinners and working lunches.

List of Officials Participating in Xi-Trump Beijing Meetings Released: The White House has released a list of top officials from both nations who participated in the final round of discussions between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping in Beijing, the Chinese capital. Representing the United States alongside Trump were U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer. Representing China, those present at the discussions included China’s Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng, Director of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Cai Qi, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, and Vice Premier of the State Council He Lifeng. The meeting is regarded as a high-level coordination and discussion between the two nations concerning diplomatic, trade, and security issues. Only high-ranking officials participated in this meeting.
