Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he does not favor launching a preemptive strike against Iran before the upcoming election on October 27. However, he warned Iran and its allied armed groups against attacking Israel.

According to a Reuters report, Netanyahu made these remarks during an interview with Israel’s Army Radio on Wednesday.

When asked about allegations from political rivals that he is trying to instigate a military conflict before the election, and about the possibility of a preemptive strike on Iran, Netanyahu said, “It is neither convenient nor good for us.”

Netanyahu added, “If Iran fires missiles at us, they will blame me.” However, he reiterated his stance that Israel would respond forcefully if Iran were to attack first.

Israel is scheduled to hold elections on October 27. In the lead-up to the vote, the issue of military tensions surrounding Iran and the potential for conflict has become a significant topic in the country’s politics.
