Three people were killed in a shooting incident involving a gunman in a busy shopping area of Twin Falls, Idaho. At least two others were injured in the attack. News agency Reuters reported the incident. Local police confirmed that the gunman was also killed following the attack and that there is no longer any threat to the public. Josh Palmer, the media coordinator for the city of Twin Falls, told Reuters that the shooting occurred around 2:30 PM local time on Saturday near an “In-N-Out Burger” restaurant in a bustling commercial district.
About an hour after the incident, police confirmed that the attacker had been neutralized. In a press conference, Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks stated that the gunman was among the deceased. Police are currently working to identify the gunman and investigate the underlying cause and motive behind the killings. Immediately following the incident, nearby roads and a nearby bridge were temporarily closed for safety reasons. Twin Falls, home to a population of approximately 47,000, is located in Idaho’s Magic Valley region.
