A case has been filed against Ayushi, a law student in Jaipur, India, accusing her of murdering her parents to seize their property. The allegations state that she hired accomplices—specifically her cousin and uncle—to carry out the killing. Police report that she was romantically involved with her cousin. Initially, she was accused of conspiring to murder her mother and was taken into police custody; now, she faces accusations of murdering her father as well. These latest allegations were brought forward by the student’s maternal uncle. Her mother, Neeraj Sharma, worked as a clerk at a court in Jaipur, while her father, Vijay Sharma, served as a court master. Neeraj Sharma had secured the job on compassionate grounds following her husband’s death.
Vijay Sharma passed away last year after a prolonged illness. On July 3, Neeraj Sharma was killed after being run over by an SUV in Jaipur. Subsequent police investigations led to the arrest of her daughter, Ayushi, on charges of conspiring to murder her mother.
Police claim that Ayushi, a final-year LLB student, hired contract killers for ₹7 lakh with the help of her cousin, Balaram. The plan was to murder her mother and stage the incident as a road accident. Investigations revealed that Ayushi’s motive was to claim her mother’s government job and take possession of the family property. Now, Ayushi’s maternal uncle, Rakesh Sharma, has alleged that she also murdered her father. Rakesh Sharma claims that after Vijay Sharma suffered a brain stroke, Ayushi and Balaram took him to an undisclosed hospital and kept the rest of the family in the dark about his treatment for three consecutive months. Whenever her mother inquired, Ayushi would merely state that her father had been admitted to a private hospital.
Later, the family brought Vijay Sharma home, where doctors informed them that multiple organs had failed. Rakesh Sharma alleges that Ayushi removed the feeding tube supplying her father with nutrition, resulting in his death. Police have stated that an investigation into this allegation has commenced, and Ayushi is being questioned about it while in custody.
Meanwhile, the police are searching for Ayushi’s cousin, Balaram. She is suspected of being a key co-conspirator in this murder. According to police sources, Ayushi, Balaram, and Balaram’s father, Mohan, were the masterminds behind the plot to kill Neeraj Sharma. It is alleged that the three of them planned to divide the family property among themselves. Police further revealed that Ayushi had previously physically assaulted her mother; she had been living with her uncle Mohan and cousin Balaram for some time.
Investigators claim that Ayushi and Balaram were also in a romantic relationship. On July 3, while returning home after dropping his younger son off at a coaching center, Neeraj Sharma was struck and killed by a speeding Scorpio vehicle. Police stated that contract killers had attempted to murder Neeraj Sharma a month prior to this incident as well, but were unable to execute the plan due to traffic congestion. The accused contract killers—Hemant, Akash, Mohit, Arvind, and Rohit—have been arrested, while the police are conducting an operation to apprehend the absconding Balaram.
