Could be so ruthless.
What Happened
On June 18, Ketan Agarwal went trekking at Lohagad Fort to celebrate the birthday of his fiancée, Siya Goyal. They were planning to get married in November.
Initially, Siya Goyal told the police that Ketan slipped and fell into the gorge while taking photographs. Ketan’s body was recovered after a three-hour rescue operation.
However, the Lonavala Rural Police found inconsistencies during the investigation. Suspicion grew following the analysis of mobile data, call records, and eyewitness accounts. Subsequently, the police detained Siya and her lover, Chetan Choudhary.
According to investigators, the two of them pushed Ketan into the deep gorge.
Plans for a Luxurious Wedding
Ketan was the son of Vishal Agarwal, a prominent real estate developer from the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune district. Their wedding was scheduled to take place in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in November. The family had already booked a palace in Jaipur for ₹17 crore and arranged two private jets for the guests.
A relative stated that the families were very happy, and this incident has left everyone deeply shocked. Police sources revealed that Siya Goyal did not want to marry Ketan and wished to continue her relationship with her lover.
According to the investigation, she took Ketan to Lohagad under the pretext of celebrating her birthday. Seizing the opportunity, she, with the help of her lover, pushed him off the hill. Pune SSP Sandeep Singh Gill stated that the investigation revealed both accused were present at the scene and had confessed to the conspiracy to commit the murder.
